Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Mariah who LOVED Christmas more than words could express!
Every year, she wanted Christmas to be perfect. She wanted Christmas to be magical. She wanted it to be Christmas every day of the year!
But Christmas wasn't always perfect for little Mariah. Some years were harder than others. Some years were even a little sad.
Through it all, she vowed to make sure that when she grew up, Christmas would be joyous and wonderful every single year, no matter what!
Some time later, she sat in a quite room in upstate New York while It's a Wonderful Life was playing on TV. She plunked a melody onto a tiny keyboard while scribbling down the words to a song she would later title "All I Want For Christmas Is You"!
...25 years later, here we are, celebrating the re-release of that song and of my first Christmas album, Merry Christmas. That little girl still lives on inside of me, and I am reminded of her never-ending Christmas dream each holiday season.
I created this album in hopes that it would one day spread my ever-present Christmas spirit to people all over the world. I poured every ounce of my festivity into writing original songs and covering and rearranging some of my favorite holiday standards.
I couldn't be prouder of this milestone, and I genuinely love and appreciate every single one of you that continues to share this evergreen Christmas journey with me.
