The relationship I have with the Music Box album is complex, and a little bittersweet. On one hand, it brings me so much joy when I think of how crucial it was in creating my lifelong bond with my fans.But it was also a difficult period in my life as a young woman and songwriter, having to navigate through (and often fight) "the powers that be" on every creative, musical, and even personal decision.

Never could I have imagined the enormity of this album's impact - certainly not when I first sat down on the floor to write the lyrics to "Dreamlover." I actually remember, maybe eerily so, exactly where l was when I wrote most of the lyrics and melodies for these songs, all in an orange notebook given to me by Cyndi Lauper. I will always remember when I wrote "Hero," it was a very surreal moment.It's always magical to me when the lyrics and melody come to me simultaneously, as they did that day. Now,30 years later, I feel like I can celebrate this album the way it was always meant to be celebrated. Seeing the photos we never used,finally revealing the original cover art, and of course including all the songs from this era that l loved (but couldn't release at the time).

Thank you to my fans,my lambily, for going down memory lane and reliving the splendor of these moments with me. The closeness I feel with you is an enduring gift and permanent connection that will never, ever fade. I am so thankful for all the love you've given and continue to shower upon me. Can't wait to share more love,more joy and more music as our journey continues.
